About this policy
Melbourne Comedy Club (we, us) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through melbournecomedyclub.com.au, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, or submit our Perform or Festivals forms, we collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, social media links and the content of your message.
- Information from your visit. Our analytics and advertising tools collect details such as the pages you view, the device and browser you use, approximate location, and which ticket buttons you click.
- Ticket purchases. Tickets are sold by Humanitix, not by us. Humanitix collects your purchase details under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details.
How we use it
- To reply to your emails and to review Perform and Festivals enquiries.
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
- To measure and run our advertising, including checking whether an ad led to a ticket purchase.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies from Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. When you arrive from an ad, we keep the ad's tracking details (such as fbclid and UTM codes) in your browser for the length of your visit. We add those details to ticket links so a purchase can be matched back to the ad.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalisation through your Google and Meta account settings.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and our business. This includes our website host, our email provider, Google (Analytics), Meta (advertising), and Humanitix (ticketing). We don't sell your personal information.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, including Humanitix, Instagram, Facebook and Google Maps. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for a legal reason. If you have a concern, please contact us first. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
